This template may be used in "References" and "Further reading" sections, and on talk pages, for citing the Lessico Etimologico Italiano (LEI).

The template takes the following parameters:

|2= or |entry= – the name of the LEI entry (exactly as given in the LEI to aid searches on the LEI website, as the template is currently unable to link to a specific page)
|2=, |pos=, or |part of speech= – the part of speech of the entry. The template automatically adds a full stop (period) to the end.
|subentry= – a term that appears as a subentry under an entry.
|subpos= – the part of speech of the subentry.
|3=, |page=, or |pages= – the number(s) of the page(s) cited as a reference.
|4= or |accessdate= – the date when the LEI webpage was accessed, in one of the following formats: 1 October 2017 or October 1, 2017.
|5=, |text=, or |passage= – a passage cited from the source.
|nodot= – by default, the template adds a full stop (period) at the end of the citation. To suppress this punctuation, use |nodot=1 or |nodot=yes.
