[แก้ไข]เริ่มแรกปรากฏใน Worin seokbo (月印釋譜 / 월인석보), 1459 เป็นภาษาเกาหลีกลาง ᄉᆞ라ᇰ. The word is a แม่แบบ:ko-etym-nativised[1] The Middle Korean word had the meaning of "thought; reflection," identical to the Chinese semantics, in addition to that of "love".
The native Middle Korean words for "love" were แม่แบบ:okm-inline and แม่แบบ:okm-inline, both of which were obsolete by the nineteenth century.
